WhatsApp is testing new features. The first is an update to emoji reactions and the second one will provide more information on the shared links. Here’s everything you need to know about these new features WhatsApp is testing.
Recent Emojis for Reactions
As spotted by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is adding the ability to react with recent emojis in the react panel. The number of emojis in the react panel has also increased from the previous limit of six. The emojis can be swiped to reveal more recent emojis. Here’s how this feature looks on WhatsApp for Android and iOS.
WhatsApp’s emoji reactions to messages were previously limited to the default selection of emojis: 😊, ❤️, 😂, 😮, 😢, and 👍. You have to open the emoji sector to add other emojis to message reactions. The new feature will help make the emoji section more personalised and make it easier to choose the emojis you use the most.
Get Link Info on Google
WhatsApp is also working on a new feature to search links on the web directly from the WhatsApp message, as spotted on WhatsApp beta for Android version 2.24.22.19.

On messages with links, you will soon get the option called “Get link info on Google.” Tapping on it will take you to a Google search about the link. This can be seen as a good security feature where users can verify the legitimacy of links shared via WhatsApp by directly searching on Google.
Since these features are currently being beta-tested, we can expect them to roll out to the general users soon. We will let you know when this happens, so, stay tuned.
