Highlights
  • Apple is rolling out a new version of iPadOS 17.5.1 specifically for 10th Gen iPad users.
  • Apple has not stated the reason for this.

Recently, Apple unveiled its iPadOS 17.5.1 update, which addressed an issue that caused deleted photos to reappear in the user’s photo library. Interestingly, the tech giant has unveiled a revised build of iPadOS 17.5.1 for the 10th-generation iPad. So, let’s take a closer look at what this revised update brings.

New iPadOS 17.5.1 for 10th Gen iPad

The latest update has the 21F91 build number different from the original 21F90. According to the folks at 9to5Mac, this new build is only available for the latest entry-level iPad and hasn’t been released for any other models.

Apple released iPadOS and iOS version 17.5.1 to address a problem where some users saw deleted photos reappear in their Photos app. This glitch stemmed from a rare issue where the storage database became corrupted, preventing some images from being fully deleted despite the user’s command. It wasn’t a widespread problem, but the update aimed to fix it.

Interestingly, Apple recently released another update for the 10th generation iPad with the same version number (17.5.1) but a different build code. While Apple hasn’t explained this, it could be due to a bug affecting only this iPad model.

How to Update 10th Gen iPad with the Latest iPadOS 17.5.1

Follow the steps mentioned below to get the revised version of the iPadOS 17.5.1 on your 10th Gen iPad:

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPad.
  2. Go to General.
  3. Tap on Software update.
  4. If the software update is available, tap on update, and you are good to go.
