Apple has started rolling out the new version of the Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 and Final Cut Pro 10.8 for Mac. The Cupertino giant also started rolling out a new Final Cut Camera iPhone app on the App Store. Here are the details.
Final Cut Pro Update
The Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 and Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.84 are now available as free updates for existing users. Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 is available for $4.99 per month or $49 per year, and Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 is available for $299.99.
The Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 will run on the new iPad Pro with the Apple M4 chipset and is claimed to support 2x faster rendering and 4x more streams of ProRes RAW than M1. The app now supports the Live Multicam feature, which helps users wirelessly connect and preview up to four cameras simultaneously.
This feature is also available for the new Final Cut Camera app. Both apps now support the director’s view of iPhone and iPad cameras. The feature also allows manual control of setting preferences using the all-new Final Cut Camera.
The new update allows users to control settings like manual focus, shutter speed, ISO, and more on the Final Cut Camera app. Apple has included support for external projects with Final Cut Pro for iPad 2. iPad users can now use the Apple Pencil Pro with Final Cut Pro for better live drawing tool controls.
Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 uses the Neural Engine in Apple silicon, which integrates new AI features. The features include automatic adjustments for light and colour and intelligent blending of video frames for the highest-quality movement.
Final Cut Pro and Final Cut Camera Compatibility
Here are the requirements for the new version of Final Cut Pro and the Final Cut Camera app.
- Final Cut Camera is available for iPhone Xs and later with iOS 17.4 or later, and iPad models with iPadOS 17.4 or later.
- Final Cut Pro for iPad 2 is available for iPad models with the M1 chip or later and iPadOS 17.4 or later. iPadOS 17.5 or later is a must for using external projects.
- Final Cut Pro for Mac 10.8 requires macOS 13.5 or later, 8GB of RAM, a metal-capable graphics card (Intel-based Mac computers only), and 6.5GB of available disk space.
