YouTube is integrating a new feature for iOS users to make sharing videos on the platform more accessible. This new feature will allow users to share videos from the native iPhone Photos app directly to the video-sharing platform. Users don’t have to open the YouTube app and scroll through the gallery to upload a video. Here’s all you need to know about the new feature.
iOS Share Sheet Gets YouTube Upload Integration
YouTube has launched a new feature to make it easier for iOS users to upload videos on its platform. According to MacRumors, the video streaming giant has integrated a share sheet into its iOS app. For the uninitiated, the share sheet is the tray that appears when users click the share button in iOS and offers various options.
With the new upgrade, users can head to the stock Photos app on their iPhone to locate the desired video clip and upload it directly from the Photos app. They simply need to click on the share button and select YouTube from the tray.
Using YouTube’s share sheet integration directly imports the video into the YouTube app, which is ready to be edited and then uploaded to YouTube Shorts. Before this, users were required to go to the YouTube app, click on the + icon at the bottom, record a new video, or click on the gallery preview to access Photos, browse the desired video, and then upload.
The new share sheet integration eliminates the whole process, making it extremely convenient to upload videos on YouTube. Notably, the option was previously available on iOS but was removed in 2018 for some reason. The company has re-introduced it on YouTube version 19.47.7.
