Spotify has pulled down all modded versions of its platform. Thousands of users have reported on social media that they are unable to stream music on Spotify with a cracked APK. It looks like the music streaming has had enough of users pirating the service, instead of paying for the premium subscription. Here are the details.
Spotify Crackdown on Mod APKs
Spotify has shut down all modded and cracked versions of its app. While the company has not officially announced this move, the change was noticed by all users globally. Users with an unofficial version of Spotify are not able to access their saved playlists, liked songs, and other services of the platform. Regular music streaming and search options are also not working.

The official Spotify app on Android, iOS, and web versions has been working completely fine. Hence, it is safe to assume that the company has started a crackdown on cracked version users.
Although Spotify has a free version, it has many restrictions. Last year, the platform made changes which required users to have a premium subscription to listen to the same track again or choose their track from a playlist. Free users were unable to switch off the auto shuffle option on the app. To avoid these obstacles, many users started moving towards modded versions instead of paying for Spotify Premium.
It is worth noting that using a modified version of Spotify is considered piracy and violates the platform’s terms of service. It can also result in a ban on your mobile number or email. Using cracked versions is also illegal in some countries. Hence, it is always recommended to use the official version of any app.
Beware ⚠️
Spotify Mod APK – version number 8.10.9.722 has hidden Trojans inside it.
If anyone has been using this version since the recent ban on older apks, kindly delete.
Hackers may retrieve your personal information and render your device useless.

Almost every modded version of Spotify does not work, so there has been a sudden surge in users looking for alternate mods. Multiple new cracked versions are now surfacing online, but these are infected with malware and viruses that pose a huge security threat to privacy. Users should stay vigilant and try to avoid installing any new modded version of Spotify.
If you were previously a Spotify Mod user, you can either switch to the official free version of the app or try alternatives like YouTube Music or JioSaavn. Also, if you are looking to go premium, Spotify is offering a three-month subscription to new users for Rs 59.
