Instagram, the Meta-owned social media giant, has announced the rollout of new features for the broadcasts channel. The new features will allow creators to understand better and collaborate with their followers.

Instagram Broadcast Channels Get New Features

The broadcast channels only allowed their members to react to the messages posted on the channel, which was the sole way of interaction with their creators. Instagram has introduced the Replies feature, which allows followers to engage with your messages and each other.

The replies will be displayed within your messages, which allows the creator to keep topics organised. Creators can also delete and report the comment, similar to normal Instagram comments.

The feature can be turned on by heading to Channel controls and enabling the Allow members to reply to messages option. The Prompts allow creators to kickstart conversations in your channel with Q&As and daily check-ins.

Creators can choose the prompts from suggested topics or create a custom prompt. It allows the members to respond with text or photos for up to 24 hours and like their favourite responses.

The replies to prompt responses by creators will be shared on the main channel. It can be enabled by heading to Channel, tapping the “+” icon, and selecting the “Prompt” option.

Instagram has also expanded the Insights and best practices feature to understand what’s working and get helpful tips to meet your channel growth goals. It brings new metrics, including the total number of interactions, story shares, and poll votes.

The feature allows creators to track how their content performs and get an idea of what’s resonating. Instagram will help creators to get the most out of their channel with personalised guidance and best practices.

The tool will suggest specific actions to help you achieve your desired goals. Creators can update their settings to automatically share channel messages to both Instagram and Facebook.
