Sundar Pichai Reveals Google’s AI Roadmap for 2025

The email written by Sundar Pichai to Google employees was spotted by 9to5Google via their sources. On Wednesday, the CEO wrote to its staff about upcoming features and products which Google is planning to release over the next few months. As per the email,

Google has started testing the Daily Listen feature in Search Labs. It serves as a personalised podcast for individuals and talks about the latest stories, news, and other topics which interest the user, based on their preferences.

The company is also planning to release NotebookLM Plus for Google One subscribers in 2025. It allows users to upload their notes, books, and other reports, which are analysed by Gemini 2.0. The AI assistant then provides a quick summary of those topics making it easier to understand. Gemini also provides links to external sources offering relevant information on the same topic.

Google is also expected to make Gemini 2.0 Flash available to all software developers in January. It is currently available as a chatbot in Gemini for normal users. The developer variant will enable engineers to utilise Gemini 2.0 Flash for software development and other analytical programs directly.

Sundar mentions that Google is proud of its progress in 2024. He added that the release of Gemini 2.0, Willow, Veo 2, and other innovations across YouTube, Android, and other products have been a success. The company will follow a full-stack approach and continue this momentum to build and release more AI features in 2025.

Note that the upcoming Google AI features mentioned in this article are based on a report from an internal email by Sundar Pichai to Google employees. There’s still no official word on this, so, it will be best to take these details with a grain of salt. We will update you once more details are available, so, stay tuned.
