WhatsApp Business Accounts Can Now Get Meta Verified
Meta Verified is a process where the company manually checks the details on an account, to check its authenticity. Once the account fulfils all criteria, Meta provides a verified badge (blue tick) to the account. However, account holders have to pay a monthly subscription fee to maintain the badge.
The same functionality will now be available for WhatsApp Business accounts. Previously, getting a verification badge on WhatsApp was an API-based process and was limited to a small set of business partners associated with Meta/ WhatsApp. The introduction of Meta Verified for all business accounts on WhatsApp will make it easier for small vendors to establish a genuine identity on the messaging platform.

To recall, the Meta Verified paid program garnered more than 1 million users and this could also end up becoming popular on WhatsApp’s business-centric platform.
WhatsApp Business Accounts To Get Voice Call Feature for Customer Support
Meta also announced that WhatsApp Business accounts will soon get an option where customers can directly contact the business through voice calls. This feature is intended to provide instant and high-quality after-sales support and service to customers. Meta further added that they are working to introduce more business-oriented features on WhatsApp that will help both vendors and customers.
The voice call feature will be made available for business accounts in the upcoming few months. However, Meta did not provide an exact launch timeline. It is possible that this functionality could be a part of the Meta Verified feature, behind a paywall.
