Google has started integrating artificial intelligence into its Keep app. Users can now leverage the power of Gemini AI in the Keep to generate lists, making planning shopping or holiday trips easier. The feature is currently available on select Android devices. Here’s how you can use it.

Google Keep Gets Smarter With AI

Google has been rapidly expanding its AI prowess across its productivity tools. The company showcased Gemini AI integration in its Keep app during the launch of the Pixel 9 Series. The feature is now slowly rolling to Android users, with Pixel 9 owners getting a preference.

Users will see a new Help me create a list button within the Keep app. This button can be used to enter text prompts like ‘Create a checklist for a two-day trip,’ ‘Create a grocery list for making 20 sandwiches,’ etc. The app utilises Google’s Gemini AI models to process the prompt and quickly return with a detailed list.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on using it:

Step 1: Update your Google Keep app to the latest version from the Play Store.

Step 2: Create a new note in Keep.

Step 3: Select the Help Me Create a List button. Enter your prompt.

Step 4: You can approve the list or ask Keep to regenerate it.

Step 5: Close the note to save your AI-generated list.

google keep ai powered lists

Currently, the AI-powered list generation feature in Keep is limited to Pixel 9 users, Google One AI plan subscribers, and Google Worklabs users. To access it, you either need a compatible device or a high-end AI subscription to Gemini AI.

The Google One Gemini AI Premium plan costs Rs 1950 per month, but Pixel 9 Series users do not need to pay for the subscription.

This new feature in Google Keep will be extremely helpful for users who use the app to generate shopping lists and other similar tasks. Since it uses AI backed by Gemini’s large language models, it can also remind users of simple products to keep in mind while curating the list.

Google has been slowly pushing its AI features to maximum users. Recently, the company introduced its AI-powered image editing tools for free in the Google Photos app. Other features like Circle to Search are also rolling to more devices.

Hence, we expect Google to expand the availability of AI-generated lists in Keep to all devices in the upcoming months. But remember that Google’s free version of AI tools utilises the less-powerful Gemini AI models, and the Pro models are only accessible to paid subscribers.
