X (Formerly Twitter) has abruptly gone offline for some users in India and other regions. The official app and website were not responding. The services went down at around 8:50 AM IST. Here are the details.
X Goes Offline Again, Users Panic
The Elon Musk-owned social media platform suddenly went offline this morning. Users could not refresh their feeds on the X app and website, and even old posts were not updated. Instead of new content, users were facing Please Try Again errors.
Downdetector also shows a huge surge in complaints related to X. The problem started at around 8:50 AM IST, and over 1,100 users reported downtime on the website.
Interestingly, despite the downtime, X was accessible to some users. When three members from the MySmartPrice team could not load posts on X, one Delhi member faced no issues. This could be a DNS-related issue, and users with a specific ISP (internet service provider) appear more impacted than others.
However, X and Elon Musk have not responded to the situation yet. The platform has not disclosed the exact reason for the downtime. It is worth noting that X has been constantly facing some downtimes in recent months, especially after Elon Musk’s takeover.
The billionaire made several changes to Twitter’s engineering team while rebranding it to X. Since then, the platform has reported sudden downtimes over five times. But in each case, services were quickly restored within a few hours.
As of now, X is still not loading properly for all users. The issue appears to be widespread in the South Asia region, while Europe and America appear to be unaffected. We will keep you updated with the details, so stay tuned.
